Hyderabad, 11th July: A Hyderabad-based businessman and his wife, who travelled to Switzerland for a holiday nearly three weeks ago, have been reported missing, with police also investigating allegations that the couple may have fled after collecting large sums of money from investors.

The missing couple has been identified as Pabba Chandrasekhar (51), a businessman, and his wife Swapna (42), a homemaker. According to their daughter, Shreya, the couple left for Switzerland on June 22 and remained in contact with family members until July 8, after which all communication ceased.

Repeated attempts to contact them have failed, with both their mobile phones either switched off or remaining out of network coverage. Concerned over the prolonged silence, Shreya, a 23-year-old software professional, approached the police, who registered a missing persons case and launched an investigation.

Investigators are verifying the couple’s travel itinerary, immigration records and financial transactions to establish their whereabouts and confirm whether they entered Switzerland as claimed.

Police are also examining allegations that Chandrasekhar and his wife collected nearly ₹50 crore from more than 60 investors over the past few years by promising attractive returns and citing various personal and business requirements.

Officials clarified that no formal cheating case has been registered so far and that the investigation remains focused on the missing persons complaint while examining all possible angles.

Police said they are exploring every possibility, including voluntary disappearance and financial fraud, and have appealed to anyone with information about the couple’s movements or whereabouts to come forward.
