PM Modi Condoles Kutch Accident Deaths
A truck-pickup collision near Khavda in Gujarat’s Kutch district claimed seven lives, prompting the Prime Minister to express condolences as authorities launched an investigation.

New Delhi/Kutch, 9th Oct: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in a serious road accident in Gujarat’s Kutch district. He extended condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister said he was distressed to hear about the deaths and conveyed his sympathies to those who had lost loved ones in the tragedy.
Seven Workers Killed in Khavda Collision
The accident occurred near Khavda village in Kutch, where a pickup vehicle carrying workers collided with a truck and overturned. Preliminary reports indicated that seven workers had died, while more than 20 others were injured.
According to Kutch Collector Anil Ranavasiya, the pickup was transporting approximately 30–32 workers employed by a company. The injured were taken to the District Hospital in Bhuj, where they were receiving treatment from specialist doctors.
Police and RTO Teams Begin Investigation
Following the accident, police and Regional Transport Office (RTO) teams were deployed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and determine how it occurred.
The district administration is overseeing the response, while the investigation is expected to establish the precise cause of the crash. Further details, including the identities of the deceased and the condition of the injured, were awaited.
The Prime Minister’s message offered condolences to the affected families and wishes for the recovery of those receiving treatment.
