New Delhi, 20th April: The Department of Posts has recorded a 16% rise in revenue for FY 2025–26, reaching ₹15,296 crore, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced while chairing the Annual Business Review Meeting in New Delhi.
Calling the fiscal year “historic,” the minister said the growth reflects strong financial performance and ongoing structural transformation within India Post.
Performance Overview
The Department achieved 88% of its total business target of ₹17,546 crore, with performance spread across circles nationwide. Eight circles crossed 90% of targets, while 14 achieved between 80–90%, indicating consistent progress.
Rajasthan Circle emerged as the top performer, exceeding its revenue target with 102% achievement.
High-Growth Segments
Citizen Centric Services (CCS) recorded the fastest growth at 70%, followed by parcels at 69% and mail operations at 34%. Insurance and savings segments also showed steady growth.
Despite this, Scindia noted that core verticals such as parcels, mail and international business need sharper focus to unlock their full potential.
Strategic Push for FY27
The minister emphasised transforming India Post into a modern, customer-centric logistics and service organisation. He called for strengthening parcel and mail services as key revenue drivers and improving performance in mid-performing circles.
Key directions include:
- Enhancing parcel and logistics operations
- Integrating mail and parcel services
- Strengthening organisational structure across circles
- Adopting a sales-driven and customer lifecycle approach
Vision for Growth
Scindia said the transformation aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a future-ready and service-driven postal system.
He expressed confidence that with focused execution and expansion of high-growth segments, the Department can achieve stronger outcomes in FY 2026–27.
