New Delhi, 30th April: India’s major airlines will resume full-scale commercial operations to Doha’s Hamad International Airport from May 1, signaling a major recovery in regional aviation after prolonged disruption caused by the West Asia conflict.

Air India, Air India Express and IndiGo are set to restore services between Doha and multiple Indian destinations as part of coordinated international efforts to normalize air traffic.

The Embassy of India in Doha confirmed the development, stating that expanding operations are being carefully aligned with global aviation authorities amid improving regional security conditions.

Commercial flights had been heavily restricted since late February following military escalation in the Gulf region, which forced large-scale airspace closures and significantly disrupted passenger movement.

Hamad International Airport, one of the region’s most critical aviation hubs, had largely operated limited emergency and evacuation flights during the crisis period.

The recent ceasefire and improving geopolitical environment have now enabled insurers and regulators to cautiously approve broader commercial flight restoration.

Passengers are being advised to stay updated with airlines regarding flight schedules, booking confirmations and operational changes as security coordination continues.

The resumption is expected to significantly strengthen connectivity for Indian expatriates, business travelers and trade routes linked to Qatar.
