New Delhi, 12th Sept: President of India Droupadi Murmu met President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian at Rashtrapati Bhavan on September 12 during his first visit to India.

Welcoming President Pezeshkian, Murmu expressed appreciation for the support extended by Iran during India’s BRICS presidency.

The two leaders discussed the longstanding bonds of friendship between India and Iran, including strong cultural and people-to-people ties.

Murmu reiterated India’s commitment to the pursuit of enduring peace in the region and called for conflicts to be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.
