PM Modi Greets Citizens on Vishwakarma Jayanti
Prime Minister honours artisans and skilled workers, highlights their role in building a developed and self-reliant India

New Delhi, 17th Sept: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended greetings to citizens on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti, with a special message for artisans, craftsmen and skilled workers engaged in construction and other creative work across the country.
Modi said the skills, dedication and hard work of artisans and skilled workers are important to realising the vision of a developed and self-reliant India.
He also reiterated the government’s commitment to providing support and encouragement to their efforts towards nation-building.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam invoking the timeless wisdom associated with Lord Vishwakarma, traditionally revered as the divine architect and craftsman.
The verse shared by Modi reads, “अनादिरप्रमेयश्च अरूपश्च जयाजयः।
लोकरूपो जगन्नाथः विश्वकर्मन्नमो नमः॥”
In his message on X, Modi extended Vishwakarma Jayanti greetings to citizens and paid special tribute to those involved in construction and skilled work.
He said the contribution of skilled workers is important to India’s development and self-reliance goals and expressed his commitment to ensuring continued encouragement for their efforts.
Vishwakarma Jayanti is observed in honour of Lord Vishwakarma and is traditionally associated with artisans, craftsmen, engineers, mechanics and workers involved in manufacturing, construction and other skilled trades.
