New Delhi, 28th May: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid tribute to Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on his Jayanti, remembering his courage, patriotism and contribution towards social reform.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said Veer Savarkar’s courage and nationalist spirit would continue to inspire generations across the country.
“Remembering Veer Savarkar on his Jayanti. His courage and patriotism will always inspire people. His intellect and emphasis on social reform are also noteworthy,” Modi said.
The Prime Minister also shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam:
“अनन्तोद्भूतभूतौघसङ्कुले भूतलेऽखिले।
शस्त्रे शास्त्रे त्रिचतुराश्चतुरा यदि मादृशाः।। ”
The verse conveys that while many people may be known either for knowledge or strength, truly exceptional personalities are those who possess both wisdom and valour together.
The Prime Minister said Savarkar’s intellect, patriotic spirit and reformist ideas continue to inspire every generation of the nation.
