PM Modi, President Murmu to Visit Odisha on Jun 20
Leaders to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth over ₹47,600 crore

New Delhi, 19th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on June 20, where he will be joined by President Droupadi Murmu in a significant joint visit to the state. The two leaders will visit Pahadpur village in Mayurbhanj district and later attend a programme marking the completion of two years of the Odisha government at Rairangpur.
During their visit to Pahadpur, the President and Prime Minister will offer prayers at the sacred Santhali Jahera and Ho Jahera sites. They will also visit the Skill Centre and Pahadpur School, highlighting efforts aimed at promoting education, skill development and socio-economic empowerment in tribal and rural areas.
At the Rairangpur programme themed “Vikas ra Dhara, Odisha Sara,” the Prime Minister will address the gathering and inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various projects worth more than ₹47,600 crore.
Major energy projects include the 600 MW Upper Indravati Pumped Storage Project, the Stage-II expansion of the IB Thermal Power Station comprising two 660 MW units, and the Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited project at Lakhanpur in Jharsuguda district.
Other projects for which foundation stones will be laid include a 300 TPD municipal solid waste-based compressed biogas plant in Bhubaneswar, a bridge over the Kathajodi river connecting Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, road expansion projects, the Kusumdihi Megalift Irrigation Project, an IGNOU Regional Centre and an Indoor Badminton Complex at Rairangpur.
The leaders will also inaugurate the 300-bed District Headquarters Hospital at Boudh, 24 Atal Bus Stands and nine Automated Testing Stations across Odisha. Other key projects include the Nayagarh Town Bypass, the Kusumi Smart Irrigation Project’s underground pipeline component, railway multi-tracking projects, and a Sports Complex and Tribal Research Centre at Rairangpur.
The projects are expected to improve infrastructure, strengthen energy security, boost connectivity, enhance public services and create employment opportunities across Odisha, particularly in tribal and rural regions.
