PM Modi to Launch ₹17,900-Cr Projects in Andhra, Visit Mysuru
Prime Minister to inaugurate Bhogapuram airport, lay foundation for Andhra's first semiconductor facility and open Viveka Smaraka in Karnataka

New Delhi, 31st July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka on August 1, where he will inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹17,900 crore, besides opening a new international airport and a cultural centre dedicated to Swami Vivekananda.
In Bhogapuram of Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram district, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model at a cost of over ₹5,640 crore.
Designed to handle six million passengers annually, the Greenfield airport features advanced technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI), biometric passenger processing, automated baggage handling systems and an Airport Predictive Operations Centre (APOC). The terminal has also been built with sustainability features such as a 5 MW solar power plant, rainwater harvesting, energy-efficient systems and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Inspired by Andhra Pradesh’s Chuttilu cottages, the landscapes of Araku Valley and the graceful movement of a flying fish, the airport is expected to strengthen air connectivity while boosting tourism, trade, investment and employment in the state.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of Andhra Pradesh’s first semiconductor manufacturing facility at Visakhapatnam. The ASIP Semiconductor Project, being developed by ASIP Technologies Pvt Ltd in partnership with South Korea’s APACT under the India Semiconductor Mission, involves an investment of over ₹460 crore and is expected to manufacture around 96 million semiconductor chips annually while generating high-skilled employment.
Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the Kurnool-IV Renewable Energy Zone Transmission System with an investment of about ₹5,550 crore, besides inaugurating renewable energy transmission projects worth over ₹4,370 crore. The projects will facilitate evacuation of renewable power from Kurnool and Ananthapuram and strengthen India’s clean energy transition through the National Grid.
In addition, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone for National Highway projects worth over ₹1,880 crore, aimed at improving connectivity, reducing travel time between Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad, easing congestion and enhancing road safety.
Later in the day, Modi will travel to Mysuru in Karnataka to inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre – Viveka Smaraka at the Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama.
Built at the historic Niranjana Math, where Swami Vivekananda stayed during his visit to Mysuru in 1892, the centre spans more than 81,000 square feet and houses a 4-D Experience Centre, exhibition hall, amphitheatre, library, meditation and yoga hall, classrooms, conference rooms and facilities for students preparing for competitive examinations.
Dedicated to the life and ideals of Swami Vivekananda, the Viveka Smaraka aims to promote value-based education, leadership development and personality building, and is expected to benefit over 10,000 students and youth through lectures, workshops and capacity-building programmes inspired by the monk’s philosophy of nation-building.
