PM Modi Urges Young Diplomats to Deepen Global Outreach
IFS Officer Trainees asked to strengthen grassroots engagement, economic diplomacy and digital presence

New Delhi, 24th Aug: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday interacted with 50 Officer Trainees of the 2025 batch of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) at Seva Teerth and urged them to strengthen India’s engagement with communities in their countries of posting.
Modi called upon the young diplomats to expand their networks beyond governments and traditional diplomatic circles and build meaningful grassroots-level relationships. He encouraged them to combine India’s civilisational strengths with technology, innovation and effective communication.
The Prime Minister also asked the trainees to act as catalysts for India’s economic engagement with the world and strengthen the digital presence of Indian Missions. He stressed the need for technology-driven, seamless and citizen-centric consular services.
Focus on tourism and youth outreach
Modi urged the Officer Trainees to promote India as a leading global tourism destination by highlighting its civilisational, cultural and geographical diversity.
He suggested greater use of the “Bharat Ko Janiye” (Know India) Quiz to generate interest in India among young people globally and encouraged the use of AI and gaming to make such initiatives more engaging.
The trainees shared their experiences from training and Bharat Darshan and discussed India’s civilisational and cultural links with different parts of the world.
