President Murmu Confers 105 Distinguished Service Decorations

Seven Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medals among 105 gallantry and distinguished service honours presented at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi, 29th June: President Droupadi Murmu on Monday conferred 105 Distinguished Service Decorations on personnel of the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force and Indian Coast Guard during the Defence Investiture Ceremony 2026 (Phase-II) held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The honours comprised 7 Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medals, 30 Param Vishisht Seva Medals, 12 Uttam Yudh Seva Medals and 56 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, recognising distinguished service of exceptional order by serving and retired defence personnel.

Among the recipients of the Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal were Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti, retired Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh, retired Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari, and retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra.

The Param Vishisht Seva Medal was awarded to 30 officers, including Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, several senior Army commanders, Air Marshals and retired officers, while 12 senior officers from the Army, Navy and Air Force received the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal for distinguished operational service.

The ceremony also saw 56 personnel from the Armed Forces and the Indian Coast Guard receiving the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal for exceptional service, including senior commanders, medical officers and other distinguished officers across all three services.

The Defence Investiture Ceremony is held annually to honour personnel who have displayed exceptional leadership, dedication and distinguished service in safeguarding the nation’s security.
