GG News Bureau
New Delhi, 18th Oct: A High-Powered Enquiry Committee (HPEC), constituted by the Supreme Court of India to investigate incidents of violence at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and other locations during July 2026, has launched an online portal to receive complaints, representations and relevant information from affected people and other stakeholders.

The portal, hpec.nic.in, has been introduced to make it easier for affected individuals, including police personnel, to submit their accounts and supporting material for consideration by the committee.

The HPEC will examine issues outlined in paragraphs 12 and 13 of the Supreme Court’s order dated August 18, 2026, and paragraph 5(i) of its order dated September 10, 2026.

Priority Areas for Investigation
The committee will give priority to complaints concerning the use of pellet guns, targeted violence and harassment of female protesters, and allegations of excessive violence and destruction of property by either side.

The portal has been designed to provide safeguards for vulnerable witnesses and allow affected individuals to keep their identities confidential if they wish. The committee has encouraged affected people and other stakeholders to upload complaints and representations using the applicable formats available through the portal.

Individuals who wish to share information or suggestions relating to the matters referred to the HPEC under the two Supreme Court orders can also use the online platform.

Physical Submissions Also Accepted
Those who prefer to submit complaints, representations or supporting documents in person can visit the HPEC office at Shiksha Sadan, 17, Rouse Avenue Institutional Area, New Delhi – 110002.

Physical submissions will be accepted on working days between 2 pm and 4 pm.

The portal and physical submission facility are intended to enable the committee to gather information from affected individuals and other stakeholders as part of its examination of the July 2026 incidents.
