New Delhi, 22nd July: A High-Powered Committee (HPC) constituted by the Supreme Court has invited suggestions and representations from the public and stakeholders on issues related to the Aravalli Hills and Ranges, as it prepares a comprehensive report for submission to the apex court.
The committee was constituted by the Supreme Court through its May 25, 2026 order in Suo Motu Writ Petition (Civil) No. 10 of 2025 to examine matters concerning the Aravalli ecosystem and related issues. The committee has been directed to submit its report to the court by August 31, 2026.
The HPC has sought inputs from a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including governments of Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat and other concerned states, as well as environmentalists, conservationists, non-profit organisations, mining lease holders, project proponents, villagers, farmers, mine workers, local communities and other interested individuals or entities.
According to the committee, stakeholders are encouraged to support their submissions with documentary evidence or other verifiable material wherever possible.
Representations can be submitted through email or via a dedicated Google Form within 21 days from the publication of the public notice.
The committee said the consultation process is aimed at ensuring that diverse perspectives are considered while examining environmental, ecological and livelihood-related issues associated with the Aravalli Hills and Ranges.
