Rohtak, 10th June: Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia participated in a series of programmes in Haryana’s Rohtak on Tuesday to mark 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government, highlighting infrastructure development, cleanliness, social harmony and environmental conservation.
During the visit, Scindia reviewed India’s first elevated railway track project and described it as a major step towards building a modern, safe and future-ready railway infrastructure network.
He said the project would enhance connectivity and passenger convenience while reflecting the transformation underway in Indian Railways under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
“Projects such as the elevated railway track are setting new benchmarks in modernisation, safety and connectivity and are important milestones towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047,” he said.
Tribute to Dr Ambedkar
Scindia also visited Ambedkar Chowk in Rohtak, where he paid floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr B.R. Ambedkar.
Following the tribute, the Union Minister participated in a cleanliness drive and urged citizens to make cleanliness a personal responsibility as well as a national duty.
He said the Swachh Bharat Mission had evolved into a powerful people’s movement over the last 12 years through active public participation.
“A clean environment, healthy citizens and a developed nation are interconnected goals that India is continuously striving to achieve,” he said.
Tree Plantation Under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’
As part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, Scindia planted a sapling and encouraged citizens to participate in the initiative.
He described tree plantation as one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect the environment and secure a greener future for coming generations.
The Minister said the campaign is not only an environmental initiative but also a tribute to motherhood and a symbol of emotional connection with nature.
He urged people to plant at least one tree in honour of their mothers and take responsibility for its care and preservation.
Call for Public Participation
Scindia said the country had made notable progress over the past 12 years in infrastructure development, environmental conservation, social awareness and public welfare.
He expressed confidence that India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 would be achieved through active public participation and collective effort.
“The achievements of the last 12 years demonstrate what can be accomplished when development becomes a people’s movement. With public participation at its core, the vision of Viksit Bharat will certainly be realised,” he said.
