Scindia Says Northeast Youth Will Build Viksit Bharat 2047

New Delhi, 4th Sept: Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia attended the ninth edition of the Northeast Students’ Fest at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi on Friday and interacted with students and young people from across the Northeastern states.
At the event, Scindia expressed solidarity with the people of Nepal following the devastating floods in the country. He asked the gathering to observe a two-minute silence in memory of those who lost their lives and expressed condolences to their families.
Addressing the gathering, Scindia described the Northeast Students’ Fest as a celebration of the region’s culture, creativity and youth. He highlighted the role of My Home India in promoting national integration, social harmony and youth empowerment over the past 21 years.
Recalling the initiative’s origins as a “Home Away from Home” for students from the Northeast, Scindia said it has evolved into a national platform celebrating both India’s diversity and the shared bonds that unite its people.
Drawing an analogy with India’s rivers, Scindia said the Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati and Brahmaputra originate from different terrains and flow through distinct landscapes but ultimately come together as one powerful force without losing their individual identities.
The Union Minister described youth as the real growth engine of the Northeast and key builders of Viksit Bharat 2047. He highlighted achievements by young talent from the region in sports, music, education, technology and innovation, citing sportspersons Mirabai Chanu and Lovlina Borgohain as examples.
Scindia also felicitated students and participants of the dance competition at the festival and congratulated the winners.
