Shivraj Assures Full Support to Arunachal Flood Victims

Union Minister conducts aerial and ground survey, reviews relief operations with CM Pema Khandu and Kiren Rijiju

Itanagar, 2nd July: Union Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday conducted an extensive aerial and ground survey of flood-affected areas in Arunachal Pradesh and assured every affected family of full support from the Centre and the state government.

Accompanied by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Chouhan visited several flood-hit districts, interacted with affected families and reviewed damage to homes, crops, livestock and public infrastructure.

Addressing flood victims, the Union Minister said no affected family would be left behind in relief and rehabilitation efforts. He assured that houses destroyed in the floods would be rebuilt, while losses to agriculture and livestock would be assessed to ensure timely compensation.

Chouhan said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was closely monitoring the situation and had directed all possible assistance for the affected people. He added that the Centre and the Arunachal Pradesh government were working in close coordination to restore normalcy at the earliest.

During the visit, the minister also joined local residents in repairing a damaged road and building a protective embankment, praising the community’s spirit and collective efforts in responding to the disaster.

Later, Chouhan chaired a high-level review meeting with Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Kiren Rijiju and senior officials, directing authorities to expedite damage assessment, strengthen relief operations and prepare a comprehensive rehabilitation plan. He said immediate relief and long-term restoration would remain the government’s top priorities.
