New Delhi, 4th Oct: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) national spokesperson Vinod Bansal has raised concerns over alleged incidents of cow slaughter and religious conversion in Southeast Delhi, urging the Delhi Police and local administration to conduct a thorough investigation and take effective action.

In a post on social media, Bansal said the alleged incidents had caused deep concern and anger among members of the local Hindu community.

According to Bansal, severed parts of a cow were found near the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range in the Prahladpur police station area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Southeast Delhi.

In a separate allegation, Bansal claimed that religious conversion activities were taking place at an Anganwadi centre in Lajpat Nagar operating under the Nizamuddin Project of the Delhi government’s Department of Women and Child Development.

Bansal said workers of the VHP and Bajrang Dal brought both matters to the attention of the police. He further claimed that two or three Christian missionaries were handed over to the police in connection with the alleged conversion activity.

The VHP spokesperson expressed concern over the timing of the alleged incidents, coming shortly before the beginning of the Hindu festive season with Navratri. He questioned whether attempts were being made to disturb the festive atmosphere in the national capital.

Bansal urged the Delhi Police to undertake a prompt and detailed investigation into both matters and initiate effective action based on the findings.

He also called for greater vigilance by the local police and civil administration to ensure that elements responsible for disrupting social harmony are identified and controlled in time.

Bansal said the VHP and Bajrang Dal would continue to closely monitor such incidents and stressed the need for authorities to remain alert.

The allegations made by Bansal in his post have not been independently verified in the material provided.
