Dehradun, 20th May: C. P. Radhakrishnan, Vice-President of India, on Wednesday paid tributes to Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, former Union Minister and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, at his residence in Dehradun.

Paying homage to the late BJP veteran, the Vice-President described Major General B.C. Khanduri as an extraordinary leader, distinguished soldier and experienced administrator who dedicated his life to public service and national development.

Radhakrishnan said Khanduri’s contribution towards improving connectivity and strengthening India’s road infrastructure would remain a lasting part of the country’s development journey.

Khanduri, a former Indian Army officer who retired with the rank of Major General, also served as Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways and played a major role in infrastructure expansion projects during his political career.

The veteran BJP leader passed away on Tuesday after prolonged illness. He was 91.

Several political leaders and dignitaries have expressed condolences over his demise, remembering him for his disciplined leadership and contribution to Uttarakhand’s development.
