12 Journalists Honoured with Devrishi Narad Journalism Awards 2026

New Delhi, 17th June: Indraprastha Vishwa Samvad Kendra organised the grand Devrishi Narad Journalism Awards 2026 at the Speaker Hall of the Constitution Club in New Delhi. The event brought together leading personalities from the media fraternity, senior journalists, editors, social media influencers and eminent guests.
NDTV CEO and Editor-in-Chief Rahul Kanwal attended the event as the chief guest, while Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar delivered the keynote address. RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh Narendra Thakur, RSS Delhi Prant Pracharak Vishal and RSS Delhi Prant Sah Karyawah Rajesh Kumar were also present as special guests.
A total of 12 journalists were honoured in different categories for their outstanding contribution to journalism. The awardees included Pooja Rana of OpIndia for Young Journalist, Garima Upreti of Know The Nation for Women-Centric Journalism, Himani Diwan of Kisan Tak for Rural and Environmental Journalism, Vimal Tyagi of Public Mitra for YouTube Content Creation, Mayank Baliyan for X Content Creation and Manojna Tiwari of Manukahat for Instagram Content Creation.
Prabhat Ranjan Mishra of The Pamphlet was honoured for Courageous Journalism, Neeraj Kumar Dubey of Prabhasakshi for Digital Journalism, Nihal Singh of Dainik Jagran for Print Journalism, Dr Ram Kinkar Singh of PTI Video for Television Journalism, Shashwat Panigrahi for Column Writing and Ramanuj Sharma of Hindusthan Samachar for Innovative Journalism. The awardees received certificates, mementoes, shawls and a cash prize of ₹11,000 each.
Addressing the gathering, Rahul Kanwal spoke about the challenges and opportunities created by Artificial Intelligence in the media industry. He said that while AI can perform many functions of a journalist, it cannot replace the human ability to meet people, listen to them, understand situations and provide context. Referring to Devrishi Narad as the first communicator, he said the essence of journalism lies not only in delivering information but also in the manner in which it is gathered and conveyed.

In his address, Sunil Ambekar said journalists have the responsibility to present the truth of society and contribute towards building a better nation. He advised journalists to report political developments without becoming part of politics and emphasised that every social issue should not be viewed only through a political perspective.

He further said India is progressing positively across different sectors and technology should always be used for the welfare of humanity. He stated that Artificial Intelligence should enrich the tradition of knowledge, but no emerging technology can replace human beings.
Speaking on the occasion, RSS Delhi Prant Sah Karyawah Rajesh Kumar shared information about various programmes organised in Delhi during the RSS centenary year. Jury member Brajesh Kumar Singh, Group Editor (Convergence), Network18, explained the process followed for selecting the award recipients.

Indraprastha Vishwa Samvad Kendra Vice President Ritesh Agrawal introduced the organisation, while President Ashok Sachdeva delivered the vote of thanks.
