New Delhi, 12th May: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday extended greetings on the occasion of Sirhind Fateh Divas dedicated to Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.

In a post shared on X, Shah described Baba Banda Singh Bahadur as a symbol of unwavering devotion to faith, dedication to the motherland and extraordinary courage against injustice.

The Home Minister said Baba Banda Singh Bahadur was “an ascetic at heart and an invincible warrior for the defence of faith”.

He said the Sikh warrior organised farmers, fought against injustice and defeated Mughal forces while spreading the message of self-respect, bravery and protection of religion.

“Despite enduring countless cruelties, he did not accept religious conversion,” Shah said.

The Home Minister added that Baba Banda Singh Bahadur’s life would continue to inspire generations in the protection of the nation and faith.

Sirhind Fateh Divas is observed to commemorate Baba Banda Singh Bahadur’s historic victory over Mughal forces at Sirhind.
