New Delhi, 10th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received congratulatory messages from heads of state and government across the world after becoming India’s longest continuously serving democratically elected Prime Minister, marking a historic milestone in the country’s political history.
Leaders from Asia, Europe, Africa and the Pacific praised Modi’s leadership, governance record and contribution to strengthening India’s global standing while reaffirming their commitment to deepening bilateral ties with New Delhi.
Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay described Modi as a “friend, brother and mentor” while extending his congratulations.
Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake congratulated Modi and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding partnership between India and Sri Lanka.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim termed the achievement a testament to Modi’s years of dedicated public service and leadership, expressing hope for stronger cooperation between the two countries.
Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said the milestone reflected the enduring trust placed in Modi by the Indian people over three consecutive mandates. He also praised Modi’s contribution to strengthening India-Nigeria relations.

The congratulatory messages came as Prime Minister Modi surpassed the tenure of India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to become the country’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister, completing 4,399 consecutive days in office.
