Firozabad, 12th June: Stone was hurled at a coach of the Lucknow-Delhi Shatabdi Express near Firozabad railway station on Thursday evening while RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was travelling on the train, police said.

The incident occurred around 7:45 pm near the Pemeshwar Gate bridge on the Etawah-Tundla rail section when an unidentified person allegedly pelted a stone at one of the coaches of the 12003 Up Shatabdi Express.

According to sources, Bhagwat had boarded the E1 coach at Kanpur and was travelling to Delhi. He was reported safe and unharmed in the incident.

Following information from railway authorities, senior police officials rushed to the spot to assess the situation and initiate an investigation.

Among those who reached the location were Firozabad Superintendent of Police Aditya Langhe, Agra Railway SP Anil Jha and SP (City) Ravi Shankar Prasad.

Police said the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. Authorities are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the individual responsible and determine whether the act was deliberate or accidental.

Railway officials have also begun a parallel inquiry into the security breach.

No injuries were reported among passengers, and train operations remained unaffected following the incident.

Officials said further details would emerge after the analysis of surveillance footage and collection of evidence from the scene.
