Begusarai, 21st Oct: Bihar Police is verifying the identity and background of a Begusarai man arrested in connection with the shooting outside actor Tiger Shroff’s residence in Mumbai after an elderly couple claimed that the suspect’s photograph did not match their son.

Three people, including a juvenile, were detained from a train at Kota railway station in Rajasthan a day after the shooting in Mumbai’s Juhu area last Sunday. Kota Police identified two of the accused as Ritik alias Roshan, 22, from Begusarai, Bihar, and Rehan, from Sonipat, Haryana.

Mumbai Police, which has taken custody of the three accused, reportedly identified Ritik as a resident of Dumri village under the jurisdiction of Singhaula police station in Begusarai district.

Begusarai Superintendent of Police Maneesh said the police had identified Ram Babu Mahto, a grocery store owner, as the suspect’s father based on the information received. He added that Ritik had reportedly worked for a food catering agency in Delhi before moving to Mumbai around three months ago.

However, Mahto’s wife told local media that the photograph shown to her by police was not of her son. She urged the authorities to establish the identity of the arrested man and trace her son, with whom the family had reportedly lost contact.

“I want police to take action against the guilty. But the photograph is not of my son,” she said.

The Begusarai SP confirmed that an investigation was underway to verify the man’s antecedents based on information received from the couple and Mumbai Police.

Shooting Outside Actor’s Residence
The shooting took place in Mumbai’s upscale Juhu area on Sunday evening. A video of the incident reportedly showed gunshots being fired at close range towards a car.

Tiger Shroff, 36, the son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff, escaped relatively unharmed, while his driver and a bystander were injured.

The investigation is continuing as police work to establish the identities and backgrounds of those detained and determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Audio Clip Allegedly Links Attack to Salman Khan
A purported audio clip circulated across media platforms in which Anil Pandit, a 32-year-old US-based man from Panipat and an alleged associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, is heard claiming responsibility for the attack’s alleged motive.

In the clip, Pandit reportedly claims that Shroff was targeted for ignoring warnings against working with actor Salman Khan. He is also heard demanding an apology from Khan to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and community.

The claims in the audio clip have not been independently established in the information provided. Police verification of the suspect’s identity and the investigation into the shooting remain ongoing.
