Evian, 17th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Evian, France.
The two leaders reviewed the strong momentum in India-UK relations following their reciprocal visits last year and welcomed progress across the Vision 2035 roadmap, covering trade and economic growth, defence and security, climate action, green energy, technology, innovation, education and people-to-people ties.
The leaders looked forward to the early implementation of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement and welcomed the expansion of educational cooperation, including new campuses of the University of Liverpool in Bengaluru and the Universities of York and Bristol in Mumbai.
Prime Minister Modi thanked the UK for its strong participation in the AI Impact Summit held in Delhi earlier this year and welcomed progress under the Technology Security Initiative, including the launch of the India-UK Critical Minerals Global Supply Chain Observatory.
Both leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments, including the situations in West Asia and Ukraine, and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
