PM Modi Hails 11 Years of Digital India
Prime Minister says Digital India has transformed governance, empowered citizens and accelerated innovation across the country

New Delhi, 1st July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday marked the 11th anniversary of the Digital India initiative, describing it as a transformative programme that has redefined governance, empowered citizens and laid a strong foundation for Viksit Bharat through technology-driven development.
In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister said Digital India has fundamentally changed the way public services are delivered by making governance more transparent, efficient and citizen-centric.
Modi said the initiative has transformed everyday life through seamless digital payments, transparent Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT) and the rapid expansion of Digital Public Infrastructure, making technology a powerful tool for improving the “Ease of Living.”
He noted that the adoption of digital technologies by more than a billion Indians has accelerated inclusive development while strengthening the country’s journey towards becoming a developed and self-reliant nation.
The Prime Minister said Digital India has also expanded the country’s innovation ecosystem beyond metropolitan cities, enabling entrepreneurs, startups and innovators from villages and Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities to develop solutions for some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
According to Modi, the initiative has strengthened key sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, commerce and public service delivery by making them more accessible, transparent and efficient.
Highlighting India’s technological progress, the Prime Minister said the country is making rapid advances in emerging sectors such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), semiconductors and quantum computing, which are expected to create new opportunities for economic growth and innovation.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to technology-led development, Modi said India will continue building a future where innovation serves humanity, empowers every citizen and supports sustainable development.
