New Delhi, 7th July: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday said India’s civilisational values continue to guide humanity and remain relevant in promoting peace, harmony and ethical living.
Addressing the Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav and Shri Ram Katha at Shri Ardhanarishwar Temple, Shri Raghuvanshpuram Ashram, Birla said India has long been a land of spirituality, yoga and cultural traditions that have inspired the world with the ideals of healthy living, morality and spiritual consciousness.
Describing the Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav as a celebration of India’s spiritual heritage, Birla said temples are not only centres of faith but also institutions that promote truth, righteousness, service, values and social harmony. He added that temples have historically served as centres of learning, charity and community welfare.
Highlighting the significance of Lord Ardhanarishwar, the Lok Sabha Speaker said the divine form symbolises the harmony of Shiva and Shakti and inspires balanced, compassionate and sustainable living.
Referring to Lord Ram, Birla said Ram Katha is an effective medium for taking Indian culture and moral values to the masses. He urged citizens to follow the ideals of Maryada Purushottam Ram to contribute towards building a strong, value-based and self-reliant India.
He also said the true message of Pran Pratishtha lies in consecrating truth, compassion, service and values in one’s own life, expressing confidence that such spiritual initiatives would strengthen social harmony and nation-building.
