New Delhi, 14th Aug: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid heartfelt tributes to those who endured the horrors of the Partition of India, remembering their courage, resilience and invaluable contribution to the nation’s progress on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.
In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister described Partition as a tragic chapter in history that uprooted families, claimed countless lives and inflicted immense suffering on millions. He said the day serves as a reminder of the pain endured by those who witnessed one of the largest human displacements in history.
Highlighting the resilience of the survivors, Modi said those affected by Partition rebuilt their lives from scratch, transformed adversity into opportunity and made significant contributions to India’s development. He said their life journeys continue to inspire the nation and reflect the strength of the human spirit.
The Prime Minister expressed hope that the occasion would reinforce the nation’s commitment to preserving harmony, brotherhood and unity while collectively working towards the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
