New Delhi, 28th Aug: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Friday extended greetings to the people on World Sanskrit Day, highlighting the language’s contribution to India’s knowledge tradition, culture and consciousness.
In a post on X, Shah said Sanskrit is both ancient and scientific and forms the foundational basis of India’s knowledge tradition and cultural consciousness.
He noted that the Vedas, Upanishads and Shastras, written in Sanskrit, have guided humanity on the path of knowledge for centuries.
Shah also paid his respects to scholars and teachers who, he said, have made significant contributions towards preserving Sanskrit and passing the language on to the new generation.
The Home Minister also extended Raksha Bandhan greetings to the people of the country on the occasion of Sawan Purnima.
He conveyed his greetings as the festival was celebrated across the country, coinciding with World Sanskrit Day.
