New Delhi, 13th Sept: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Ugandan Vice President Jessica Rose Epel Alupo on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
The two leaders reviewed India-Uganda bilateral relations and emphasised the need to enhance cooperation through technology partnerships, capacity building, knowledge sharing, investment facilitation and private-sector collaboration.
Modi and Alupo highlighted the development partnership between the two countries as a source of strength and reaffirmed the importance of expanding cooperation in priority areas.
Prime Minister Modi also reaffirmed India’s support for Uganda’s Vision 2040, which seeks to transform the country into a prosperous and modern economy.
The leaders noted that strong people-to-people ties continue to provide a solid foundation for India-Uganda relations.
They also called for closer bilateral engagement to champion the voice of the Global South. Modi thanked Vice President Alupo for participating in the BRICS Summit.
