PM Modi to Inaugurate SEMICON India 2026 on September 17
Three-day semiconductor and electronics event to bring together 600+ exhibitors and delegates from over 40 countries
- SEMICON India 2026 will be held at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, from September 17–19.

New Delhi, 14th Sept: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fifth edition of SEMICON India 2026 at Yashobhoomi (India International Convention & Expo Centre), New Delhi, on September 17. The three-day event will continue until September 19.
Jointly organised by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, and SEMI, the event will bring together semiconductor and electronics companies, policymakers, investors, researchers, academia, startups and students.
With the theme “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem,” SEMICON India 2026 will showcase India’s capabilities across the semiconductor value chain, covering materials, manufacturing, advanced packaging, chip design, electronics and systems.
The event will feature more than 600 exhibitors, including around 300 international companies, across 15,000 square metres. More than 150 speakers are expected to participate, while delegations from over 40 countries will attend. Six country pavilions and 12 state government pavilions will be part of the exhibition.
A dedicated Startup Pavilion will showcase around 40 startups, alongside an Innovation Showcase, Startup Pitch Competition, Student Hackathon and Workforce Development Pavilion.
The conference programme will include keynotes, panel discussions and strategic sessions on semiconductor manufacturing, artificial intelligence, supply-chain resilience, advanced packaging, materials and equipment, chip design, research, startups, innovation and talent development. Six international country roundtables and sessions on women’s leadership and workforce development are also planned.
SEMICON India 2026 comes as the government advances its semiconductor programme. According to the release, 12 semiconductor projects have been approved under the Semicon India Programme, with three projects under Semicon 1.0 having commenced commercial production. The Union Cabinet has also approved Semicon 2.0, with six major pillars aimed at further developing the ecosystem.
The government has also provided electronic design automation tools to more than 400 academic institutions and 105 startups, while 24 startups have been approved under the Design Linked Incentive Scheme.
The event will provide a platform for companies and institutions to explore technology partnerships, investment opportunities, supply-chain linkages and talent development, supporting India’s ambition to strengthen its position in the global semiconductor and electronics ecosystem.
