New Delhi, 16th Oct: Delhi Police visited the residence of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke to serve him a notice ahead of his planned ‘Tiranga Yatra’ gathering at Connaught Place, where he has called on people to assemble and hoist the national flag.
Dipke had announced on Wednesday that supporters and members of the public should gather at Central Park in Connaught Place on October 16. A video of the police visit shows him seated at home with a small national flag draped across his shoulders as he reads and questions the contents of the notice.
In the video, Dipke challenges the allegations mentioned in the document, asking the police officer, “Kya aarop laga diya hai aapne mere upar?” — questioning what accusation had been levelled against him.
One part of the notice, as read out by Dipke, alleged that he had been instigating the public through social media in an unlawful manner. He questioned the wording and legitimacy of the notice, saying, “Ye kya mazak laga rakha hai aap logon ne?” and objecting that the contents appeared arbitrary.
The visit comes amid heightened attention around the CJP’s planned flag-hoisting protest at Connaught Place. The party has said the gathering is intended to wave the Tricolour, while police have taken steps to regulate the proposed assembly.
