FOX NEWS PULLS OFF A STUNT
International Connections Between Street Demonstrations in France and Protest Against India’s Chief Election Commissioner .This is a very serious breaking report from @FoxNews.Especially for India. Fox News has been correctly reporting what we have been saying all along.
Are the recent violent protests in France internationally connected with the demonstrations in India demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar? The question has been investigated by Fox News Digital, the news outlet of the United States.
The report says that the protests on the streets of France and the movement against India’s Election Commissioner should be seen as part of a wider international network of protests. It refers to a briefing published on 16 October by the international anti-capitalist organization Progressive International (PI) .
In a briefing posted on its website, Progressive International lumped ongoing protests in France, Spain, India and Albania in the same discussion. It also posed the question:
Can these new uprisings generate sufficient organized political power to change the very conditions which brought them into being?
This observation is regarded as a clear sign of a tendency to link protests in different countries to a larger political movement.
What Other Information Has Emerged from the Fox News Probe?
“Global ‘Chaos Inc’ grows to 101 groups with plans for new rounds of demonstrations,” read the title of a report published October 20 by Fox News Digital journalist Asra Q. Nomani, describing it as a network of 101 organizations in 13 countries.
“Some of these organizations are involved in organizing protests, coordinating activities or promoting demonstrations internationally,” the report says.
What Progressive International Is Doing
During its Oct. 16 briefing, Progressive International spoke about protests in France, Spain, India and Albania.
The organization mentioned not only the reasons for these demonstrations, but also spoke about the establishment of cooperation between different social movements, labor organizations and political forces.
In the Indian context, the organization raised the demand for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and police treatment of protestors.
India’s CJP Movement and its Affiliations with Left Wing Groups
The Progressive International briefing also cited protest programs organized by India’s Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). As per the briefing, CJP founder Abhijit Dipke was present at a joint press conference with leaders of three left-wing student organizations – AISA, SFI and AISF – in Delhi. The report also noted the presence of Nikhil Dey of Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan (MKSS) who works for the rights of workers and farmers and Sheik Salauddin of Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union.
Or simply put, the briefing points to the CJP’s protest activities moving out of social media and into working with other organized political and labor movements.
Neville Roy Singham connected organizations
The Fox News investigation also identified Neville Roy Singham, an American-born technology entrepreneur currently based in Shanghai, China.
The report referred to Singham’s financial or organizational ties to groups such as BreakThrough News, CODEPINK and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. These organizations have been fomenting and backing protests across several countries,” it said.
Indian Alliance Paris Connection
A previous Fox News investigation cited an outfit called Indian Alliance Paris that is based in France. The organization has been making links between protest messages in France and India, and has worked with The People’s Forum in New York, the report said. Fox News has examined these relationships as part of an international protest network.
What can we understand from this report?
Three aspects of the matter merit particular attention. First, in today’s social media era, a movement in one country can be publicized among organizations and activists in another country in a very short time.
Secondly, organizations with common political ideologies may support movements in different countries and cooperative relationships may form between them. But there is a difference between having such relations and actually handling protests.
Third, the Fox News report was an investigative piece of media analysis. Each claim in it will have to be tested on the basis of independent evidence.
What Can Be Concluded…
This Fox News report should be taken seriously in India. There is certainly an international ecosystem behind all this instability, whether it is in France or India. This view is being more and more firmly established in everyone’s mind.
