Akhilesh Yadav’s Stepbrother Prateek Yadav Dies at 38

Lucknow, 13th May: Prateek Yadav, the stepbrother of Akhilesh Yadav and husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav, died in Lucknow on Wednesday morning at the age of 38.

According to officials at Civil Hospital, doctors were rushed to his residence after information was received around 5 am regarding his deteriorating health. He was later brought to the hospital, where he was declared dead at 5.55 am.

Autopsy Reveals Cardiac Collapse
Hospital authorities said the autopsy report cited cardiopulmonary collapse, or sudden cardiac arrest, as the cause of death.

The report also flagged excessive pulmonary thromboembolism.

Officials at Medanta Hospital said Prateek Yadav had been admitted several times during the past year for treatment related to multiple serious health conditions.

Sources familiar with his medical history said he had been battling pulmonary embolism, hypertension, anxiety-related ailments and recurring cardiac complications. His most recent hospital admission was on April 29.

Stayed Away From Active Politics
Prateek Yadav was the son of late Mulayam Singh Yadav and Sadhna Gupta.

Unlike other members of the Yadav family, he stayed away from active politics and was associated with businesses in the real estate and fitness sectors.

He had studied at the University of Leeds and operated a gym in Lucknow under the name “The Fitness Planet”.

Prateek Yadav was also involved in animal welfare activities through an organisation named Jeev Ashray, which worked for rescue and care of stray dogs.

Family members said his last rites would be performed on Thursday at 12.30 pm at Pipra Ghat in Lucknow.
