While the platform’s X account has been blocked in India, its Instagram account remained active till Thursday evening with more than 13.4 million followers.

The Cockroach Janata Party, popularly referred to as CJP online, emerged less than a week ago and quickly gained traction on social media platforms through satirical political content aimed at youth audiences.

The platform describes itself as “a political front of the youth, by the youth, for the youth” and calls itself the “Voice of the Lazy & Unemployed.”

Its official website states that the project is a work of satire and includes an online registration form inviting people to “join” the fictional political outfit.

The platform claims it has already received more than six lakh registrations.

CJP also released a satirical manifesto containing proposals such as banning post-retirement Rajya Sabha seats for former chief justices, introducing 50 per cent reservation for women in Parliament without increasing the strength of the House, and imposing a 20-year political ban on defecting leaders.
