New Delhi, 21st May: C. P. Radhakrishnan, Vice-President of India, on Thursday paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary at Uprashtrapati Bhawan.

In his message, the Vice-President said Rajiv Gandhi’s contribution to public life and his sacrifice in service to the nation continue to be remembered with respect and gratitude.

Rajiv Gandhi served as the Prime Minister of India from 1984 to 1989 and played a major role in promoting technology, telecommunications and modernisation initiatives during his tenure.

Political leaders across the country paid tributes to the late Congress leader on his death anniversary.
