New Delhi, 12th Oct: The Delhi Police has designated three new venues for organising protests and demonstrations in the national capital, following recommendations from a committee constituted by the Ministry of Home Affairs to examine alternative locations for exercising citizens’ right to protest.
According to Standing Order No. L&O/48/2026, Ramlila Ground, Burari Ground and CBD Ground in East Delhi have been notified as designated venues for protests and demonstrations.

The move aims to provide alternative locations for public demonstrations while addressing concerns associated with the existing designated protest site. The Ministry of Home Affairs had constituted a committee to examine suitable alternative venues for citizens to exercise their right to organise protests.
The Delhi Police has also stated that detailed and revised standard operating procedures (SOPs) for organising protests at the three locations will be issued separately.
The new order partially modifies an earlier Standing Order, No. L&O/48/22, dated April 28, 2022.
