Gangasagar, 27th April: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday offered prayers at Gangasagar in West Bengal, paid tribute to immortal martyrs and visited the revered Kapil Muni Ashram.

During his visit, Shah honoured security personnel who made the supreme sacrifice for national security, stating that every Indian takes pride in their unmatched courage and dedication.

He described Gangasagar — the sacred confluence of the Ganga and the sea — as a deeply spiritual site that fills devotees with peace and divine energy.

Offering prayers at Kapil Muni Ashram, Shah invoked blessings for the welfare and prosperity of the nation.

He also praised Maharishi Kapil’s philosophy of knowledge, renunciation and penance, calling it a timeless inspiration for citizens.

In his remarks, Shah highlighted the sacred journey of Maa Ganga from Gangotri to Triveni Sangam and finally to Gangasagar, underscoring its profound cultural and spiritual significance for millions of Indians.

The visit comes amid BJP’s intensified outreach in West Bengal during the politically charged election season, blending spiritual symbolism with nationalistic messaging.

Shah’s Gangasagar visit reinforced the BJP’s emphasis on cultural heritage, spiritual identity and reverence for national sacrifice.
