Kolhapur, 20th June: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday addressed the ‘Dhanyawad Sabha’ in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur and said the last 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership would be remembered as an era of development, cultural renaissance, national security and enhanced global recognition for India.
Shah highlighted the commencement of the ₹1,500-crore Ambabai Mahalaxmi Temple Corridor project, saying it marks a new chapter in preserving India’s spiritual and cultural heritage under the vision of “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi”.
The project, spread over more than 28,000 square metres, will include heritage pathways, AI-based security systems, modern pilgrim facilities, light and sound shows, an Annachhatra, heritage courtyard and other amenities while preserving around 41 temples surrounding the ancient shrine.
Referring to the development of religious sites such as the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Kedarnath-Badrinath, Somnath and Kamakhya, Shah said the Ambabai Corridor is another milestone in the government’s commitment towards cultural rejuvenation.
The Home Minister said the Modi government has worked across sectors including rural development, cooperation, infrastructure, manufacturing, semiconductors, quantum technology and space, citing the Chandrayaan-3 mission as a symbol of India’s technological progress.
On the issue of illegal infiltration, Shah asserted that infiltrators would be identified and deported, stating that India was not a “dharamshala” for illegal entrants.
The event was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and other dignitaries.
