New Delhi, 27th Aug: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday condoled the passing of Shri A. Balakrishnan, former All India President of Vivekananda Kendra, recalling his long association with the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and his service to the nation.
Modi said Balakrishnan devoted more than five decades of his life to the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and social service. As one of the early Jeevanvratis of Vivekananda Kendra, he worked across the country.
The Prime Minister particularly highlighted Balakrishnan’s association with the Northeast, where he played an important role in educational, social and nation-building activities.
In a post on X, Modi expressed his condolences to the Vivekananda Kendra family and Balakrishnan’s admirers, saying, “Om Shanti.”
