Kolkata, 30th April: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has strongly rejected exit poll projections suggesting major BJP gains in the state Assembly election, calling them part of a broader conspiracy to undermine Trinamool Congress morale.

Expressing confidence in a decisive mandate, Banerjee said the Trinamool Congress would secure at least 226 seats in the 294-member Assembly and could potentially cross the 230-mark.

She credited the people of Bengal for delivering what she described as a massive democratic response despite alleged intimidation and adverse conditions.

Banerjee alleged that exit polls projecting a close contest or BJP surge were designed to influence public perception before official counting.

“Those who tried to subdue Bengal have been subdued by the ballot,” she said, while urging party workers to remain disciplined and avoid violence.

The Chief Minister emphasized faith in the electorate and urged supporters to wait for the official results on May 4.

West Bengal recorded a historic voter turnout of over 92 percent, one of the highest in the state’s electoral history.

While most exit polls suggest a sharply competitive race or BJP edge, Banerjee remains publicly confident of retaining power for a fourth consecutive term.

The final outcome will determine whether Bengal witnesses continuity under Trinamool or a major political shift.
