New Delhi/Solapur, 15th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in a tragic accident in Maharashtra’s Solapur district and announced financial assistance for the victims’ families.

In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident. He also announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased person, while the injured will receive ₹50,000 each.

The accident occurred near Tandulwadi village in Malshiras tehsil of Solapur district when a pickup vehicle carrying devotees plunged into a roadside well. According to officials, eight people, including four women and four children, lost their lives, while several others sustained injuries. The victims were reportedly returning from a temple visit when the mishap took place.

Rescue teams and local authorities rushed to the spot and launched relief operations. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also expressed grief over the incident and announced financial assistance for the families of the deceased.
