New Delhi, 7th May: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday updated his display pictures across social media platforms to mark one year of ‘Operation Sindoor’, a major military operation carried out in May 2025.
The new display image, used across X, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp channels, features the text “Operation Sindoor” on a black background with the tricolour. One of the letters in “Sindoor” is highlighted with vermilion, symbolising sacrifice and cultural significance.
‘Operation Sindoor’ was conducted from May 7 to May 10, 2025, involving coordinated action by the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force and the Border Security Force along the western border.
The operation targeted terrorist infrastructure and military facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, and was launched in response to the April 22, 2025 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people, including 25 tourists.
The move by the Prime Minister is being seen as a symbolic tribute to the armed forces and the victims of the attack, while recalling India’s decisive response to cross-border terrorism.
