New Delhi, 26th July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid homage to the brave soldiers who fought in the Kargil War, expressing the nation’s gratitude for their extraordinary courage and unwavering commitment to safeguarding India’s sovereignty.
On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Prime Minister said the country salutes the sacrifices and valour of the armed forces, whose heroism under the most challenging conditions continues to inspire the nation.
In a post on X, Modi said, “On Kargil Vijay Diwas, our nation expresses gratitude to the brave soldiers for their extraordinary courage and commitment towards securing India.”
The Prime Minister said the soldiers’ exceptional bravery in the face of the most formidable circumstances would forever remain a source of national pride.
He added that their unwavering patriotism, dedication to duty and supreme sacrifice would continue to inspire generations of Indians.
Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on July 26 to commemorate India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil War, honouring the courage and sacrifice of the armed forces who successfully repelled Pakistani intruders from strategic heights in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
