New Delhi, 16th July: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat will interact with women leaders from across northern India during the Vishwamangalya Sabha’s North India Prabodhan Baithak, scheduled to be held in New Delhi on July 23 and 24, organisers announced on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference, Vishwamangalya Sabha National Organising Secretary Dr. Vrushali Joshi said the organisation has been working for the empowerment of women, strengthening families and social awakening since its establishment in Nagpur in 2010. She said the organisation functions with the guiding principle, “Na Matuh Par Daivatam” (There is no deity greater than the mother).

According to the organisers, the two-day meeting will be held at the World Youth Centre, Chanakyapuri, while a special interaction with Dr. Bhagwat and women intellectuals will take place on July 24 at 5 p.m. at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.

Dr. Joshi said this is the first time an RSS Sarsanghchalak will deliver a dedicated lecture and hold an interactive session on the theme of “Contemporary Motherhood”, which has been identified as the organisation’s focus area for the coming years following consultations with women participants across the country.

Around 280 women delegates from 19 states and regions, including Jammu, Baramulla, Anantnag, Leh-Ladakh, West Bengal, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh and other parts of northern India, are expected to attend the Delhi conclave.

The organisers said the July 24 evening programme is expected to draw 700–800 women participants from Delhi and neighbouring states. A similar South India meeting will be held in Hyderabad on July 25–26, with nearly 1,300 delegates expected to participate.

Vishwamangalya Sabha currently has activities across 33 organisational regions, with around 3,500 office-bearers and nearly six lakh women associated with the organisation. It recently organised women’s conventions in 23 regions, including Delhi, with the participation of around 35,000 women.

The organisation has invited media representatives to cover the July 24 interaction at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre. A photo opportunity with Dr. Mohan Bhagwat will also be provided during the concluding session at the World Youth Centre on the morning of July 24, followed by a briefing on the organisation’s annual action plan and key outcomes of the meeting.
