Paris, 19th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accompanied by French President Emmanuel Macron, participated in VivaTech 2026, Europe’s largest technology and start-up event, in Paris.

Addressing technology entrepreneurs, start-ups, investors and business leaders, PM Modi highlighted India’s vision for human-centric Artificial Intelligence and frontier technologies. He said technology has brought transformational changes in India, ranging from digital payments and AI-enabled agriculture to advanced space applications.

Following the keynote address, Prime Minister Modi and President Macron interacted with Indian start-ups and innovators showcasing frontier technologies and solutions in sectors including industry, healthcare, sustainability and mobility.

India is the AI Country Partner at VivaTech 2026 and has marked its largest-ever participation at the event with dedicated pavilions displaying its strengths in Artificial Intelligence, digital public infrastructure, health-tech, clean technologies, mobility and advanced computing. More than 80 Indian deep-tech companies and start-ups are participating in the exhibition.

The Prime Minister’s participation is expected to further strengthen collaboration between Indian and French technology ecosystems. India has maintained a strong association with VivaTech, with PM Modi delivering the keynote address in 2021, India becoming the first Country of the Year in 2022, and the event recently establishing collaboration with the Bengaluru Tech Summit.

India’s participation this year holds special significance as India and France are celebrating 2026 as the India-France Year of Innovation.
