Patna, 14th April: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday recommended the dissolution of his cabinet, paving the way for his resignation from the top post later in the day.
Kumar, who recently became a Rajya Sabha member, chaired his final cabinet meeting and informed ministers about his decision, fulfilling the constitutional requirement before submitting his resignation to the Governor.
Final Address to Cabinet
During a brief address lasting around six minutes, Kumar reflected on his tenure, stating that he had done his best since assuming office in 2005.
“I came to power in 2005. As much as I could, I did my best. The new government will continue to receive my guidance,” he said.
Resignation Expected
The veteran leader is expected to meet the Governor at around 3:15 pm to formally submit his resignation.
His exit marks a major political shift in Bihar, with the ruling alliance expected to soon announce a new Chief Minister.
Nitish Kumar, one of India’s longest-serving Chief Ministers, has played a pivotal role in shaping Bihar’s political landscape over the past two decades.
