Ensuring the Safety and Rights of Hindu Women in India

In Indian history, the term “Jauhar” has become a symbol of courage, sacrifice, and resistance against oppression. During medieval India, especially in the Mughal and pre-Mughal Sultanate periods, when foreign invaders attacked Rajput kingdoms, Hindu women—particularly Rajput queens—would sometimes commit collective self-immolation (Jauhar) to protect their honor and faith. In countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh, where Hindu communities are minorities, girls often face issues like forced religious conversion, abduction, or forced marriage. Such cases are often not reported, making it difficult for victims to get justice.

Recently in India, regarding the TCS incident, journalist Rajdeep Sardesai has tried to portray the whole episode as a matter of love affair . However, according to available sources, there were preparations to send and sell the  TCS women employees to Malaysia. Several media outlets, like the Indian Express, have come forward in their defense, seemingly having received their duty fees. Those who use the term “godi media” (media favorable to the government) do not seem to recognize the existence of “jihadi media” (media accused of favoring certain groups). Nowadays, a section of the media is actively working to undermine Indian culture and values, and it is important to investigate its roots. The funding of such entities should be properly examined by the government. One thing is certain: there appears to be a link between journalists and the so-called jihad against Hindus. This is not limited to journalists but includes lawyers as well. There exists an ecosystem or a network that is continually active against Hindus in India.

Ban on Symbolic Signs, Security

It’s important for everyone to understand this issue. Even from a secular perspective, on what grounds do Indian companies have the authority to control what employees wear? How did companies like Lenskart get the right to openly ban symbols like the bindi, which are significant to Hindus? It is also heard that companies like Himalaya do not hire Hindus. The question arises: if Muslims living in India have differences with Hindus, why don’t they renounce Indian citizenship and live in an Islamic country, as happened in 1947? How many Christians or Muslims have been converted by Hindus in India? Have such incidents ever attracted attention?

Government’s Responsibility

Why has India’s elected government, which is supposedly entirely Hindu, remained silent so far? Ensuring the safety of Hindus living in India is the need of the hour. There have been countless incidents like the Ajmer case, Chhagar case, Amravati case, and many others—including true stories like The Kerala Story and The Kerala Story 2. Whether it’s incidents in Nuh, or issues related to land jihad, is it not time to think about the right of every Hindu to live safely, especially when the government in power is one they have elected? The Indian government must fully understand its responsibility to ensure the safety of Hindus and create a secure system that includes all Hindus and excludes any leftist influence, as left-leaning systems are often seen as not being in favor of Hindus. A living example is West Bengal, where the transformation of the Communist Party into TMC (Trinamool Congress) is said to have turned the state into a Muslim-majority region.

The Indian government should also revoke the voting and election rights of those Muslims found involved in such crimes. It is important for Indian Muslims to understand that this is not the India of 1947. Every Hindu should educate their daughters about the Moplah massacre of Hindus and Direct Action Day. Such awareness is vital so that future generations are prepared for any threat to their existence.

Legal, social, and community-level coordinated efforts are necessary for the safety of Hindu girls. Although there has been some improvement in certain areas, many challenges still remain. Providing a safe and self-reliant environment for every Hindu girl is the responsibility of every section of society and the government.
