Dimapur, 16th April: Veteran media strategist Dr Kumar Rakesh addressed students and faculty at National Institute of Technology Nagaland under the Viksit Bharat@2047 Lecture Series, speaking on the “Role of Youth, Education & Media for Viksit Bharat 2047” at the institute’s campus.

The National Institute of Technology Nagaland hosted the distinguished media leader and global editorial strategist on April 15 at its Dimapur campus, where he delivered an expert talk followed by an interactive session with students and teachers.

Focus on Youth and Media
Dr Kumar Rakesh, Editorial Chairman of the Global Governance News Group and Samagra Bharat Media Group, highlighted how the combined strength of youth energy, quality education and responsible media can accelerate India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Drawing from his experience across more than 50 countries, he stressed that journalism remains a crucial pillar of a vibrant democracy, stating that information is power and must be used responsibly to address challenges in a developing India.

He also praised initiatives of Narendra Modi and urged young people to actively participate in the Viksit Bharat mission, calling every youth a “brand ambassador” of the vision beyond caste, creed and religion.

During the event, Prof. (Dr). A. Elayaperumal, Director of NIT Nagaland, reinforced this theme by sharing his vision to connect technical students with the world of media and journalism to express their idea to global society. The Director emphasized that for future engineers and scientists to be truly impactful, they must engage with media platforms to communicate their innovations and actively participate in the national discourse. He also put his concern for Ethics in Social Media for welfare and benefit for the society.

Sr Research Scholar Ms Ankita anchored  this program in a highly systematic order as Ms Shubh Shree sung National Song Jan-Gann-Mann. & Vande Matram. Adding a significant local cultural dimension to the ceremony, Ms. Keniezenuo performed a soulful Naga Cultural song, which was warmly received by the audience and the visiting dignitaries

                               

The session, held in the Video Conference Hall of NIT Campus , saw enthusiastic participation from faculty members, research scholars, and students across B.Tech, M.Tech, and M.Sc. programs. The dialogue focused on how the academic community can bridge the gap between technical expertise and social responsibility to realize the vision of a self-reliant India.

Prof Jyoti Prasad Borah proposed vote of thanks to the Chief guest and all participants who were present in the hall to support Viksit Bharat Abhiyan initiated by PM Modi for the integrated development of India.
