New Delhi, 20th April: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in the bus accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district.
In a message, the Prime Minister extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Modi announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased. Those injured in the accident will receive ₹50,000 as financial assistance.
“Pained to hear about the loss of lives due to a bus accident in Udhampur. I extend my heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their near and dear ones,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X.
The accident, which claimed multiple lives and left several injured, has triggered ongoing rescue and relief operations, with authorities providing medical assistance to the victims.
