New Delhi, 8th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the Civil Contract Party’s victory in Armenia’s parliamentary elections, describing the result as a reflection of the people’s continued faith in his leadership and vision.
In a message posted on X, Modi extended his greetings to Pashinyan and the ruling Civil Contract Party for securing a renewed mandate from the Armenian electorate.
“Congratulations to Mr. Nikol Pashinyan on the impressive victory of the Civil Contract Party in the parliamentary elections. The renewed mandate reflects the enduring trust and confidence of the people of Armenia in your leadership and vision,” the Prime Minister said.
Modi also reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening its long-standing relationship with Armenia and expressed his eagerness to work closely with the Armenian leadership in the coming years.
The Prime Minister said he looked forward to further deepening the warm and historic ties of friendship and cooperation between India and Armenia.
India and Armenia share close diplomatic relations, with cooperation spanning trade, culture, education, connectivity and strategic engagement. Bilateral ties have witnessed growing momentum in recent years, with both countries exploring new avenues of collaboration across multiple sectors.
The congratulatory message comes after the Civil Contract Party secured victory in Armenia’s parliamentary elections, paving the way for Pashinyan to continue leading the country’s government.
Officials said India remains committed to enhancing cooperation with Armenia and strengthening people-to-people ties as part of its broader engagement with the Eurasian region.
